Jealousy: a feeling of rightful ownership being stepped on
The bible says that God is a Jealous god. So that should make it ok, right. But you have to understand, the bible wasn’t written in English and things do get misunderstood in translations and changing from one culture to another.
I think the scriptures are just trying to tell us to keep our eye on her or him. When we focus upon something else, we tend to get ourself into trouble.
Most people, then and now cannot understand the simplicity of it; but instead require rules/laws with punishments and rewards. People always go to extremes, the greater the rewards and punishments the better. Somehow that makes us feel righteous. We don’t questions rules, even if it makes no sense to us, and we believe what we are told even if we don’t understand.
Here comes Jesus, he didn’t exactly follow those rules, wasn’t proud of those who told everyone else to and he showed mercy to those who stumbled over those rules. He explained that those rules were created for us, we were not created for them. Meaning: We could bend those rules to our benefit if we needed to, because they were meant for our benefit. Well now that would mean that the extremists making everyone else follow these rules are no longer righteous. Those who had memorized every letter of the law and could quote them exactly and proudly to everyone else and always would. They are now made naked for everyone to see their ignorance of understanding the true intent of the law. Well that kind of turned things around. That might now mean that those who didn’t always follow the letter of the law might actually be better than those who followed every letter of the law. Those who were once called sinners, now are being considered those of a greater understanding. You could imagine, that made some people angry. The way the world is set up, then and still is now. Those who followed the rules would be leaders and those who failed would be loosers. Here is the worst part, the man who was teaching this new thing turning everything upside down, HE CLAIMS TO BE THE MESSIAH. Kill that bastard! NOW! And so eventually they did.
Anyways, this note is about Jealousy. A person in this world today can feel jealous and blame somebody else for feeling like that and be the victim rather than the victimizer. An art perfected by some to control others, accepted and encouraged by all of society. I’m here to tell you right now. THAT’S FUCKED UP. I don’t think that the scriptures are to blame for this, I just for some reason thought I should bring that up.
Jealousy is a feeling. We associate feelings with God because we were told we were made like God, or it just helps us to be closer to the original creator God gets angry and he hates and some of us can believe that, and still believe that hate and anger are dark feelings that are never to be encouraged and always discouraged, but we all ofcourse have these feelings and you can’t help it, and we have to deal with it and there are ways, many ways to deal with it. Jealousy however is a feeling that is not considered a dark feeling. When someone feels jealous, it is not discouraged, rather, a pity party is put together as punishments are designed and created. It is because of jelousy that some are shunned, battered and tortured, emotionally and physically to a point that they may even become defective themselves. All because Jealousy, like hate and anger, is a dark feeling, and like hate and anger, it should be discouraged and we need to deal with it.
To my last breath, as if I was put here for no other reason, I will preach this from the mountain top. PEOPLE DO NOT BELONG TO PEOPLE, PEOPLE ARE NOT PROPERTY. And just because you are proud of someone, look up to them or love them, you do not have the right to feel victimized by what they think, feel or do. Everyone has the right to feel for others, believe differently and do things that you would never do. They cannot be your carbon copy, are not meant to meet your exprectations or always be there only for you. You do not have a right to expect this from another person. This feeling of rightful ownership being stepped on is a wrong feeling, and it should be discouraged and you need to deal with it. And if we all understood this, there would be a whole lot of fewer problems in this world.
