IT’S JUST A SEASON

The wind blows
The leaves go
Spinning in a circle
As if in a race
But neither one of them wins
What they trying to prove
It is only the wind that makes them move
Bare trees looking down
Sing songs of wow to the brown grass
But in the sky are signs of hope
With bright clouds looking by
It is only for a season
Growth is the reason
Life will take a rest
To return in zest
I’m waiting for the springtime
I’m dreaming of soft grass
and shade trees
Flowers blowing perfume in the wind
A stream with a fishing pond
With plenty for all to eat

It sounds like this poem is about the fall season, but I really don’t know what this poem is about, it sounds good though. It’s one of those times when I feel like I have to write something, so I do and sometimes I’m amazed at just what comes out. I wrote this poem right after my first wife told me she was leaving me, so what does this poem have to do with that? I have a few of these that just came out of no where, sound really good, but I’m unsure of the meaning.

When my ex wife read it, she told me that she thought my poetry was improving, so I guess she liked it.
