MY MISS ANNIE Oh my Miss Annie She's my lady She laughs She cries She lives She dies And doesn't want to know why She loves me with a cup of coffee Clean house and a neatly made bed Someone to hold in my arms at night My Miss Annie is not greedy All she ever wanted was to be wanted All she ever needed was to be needed Why do we make her hurt Why do we make her ashamed She doesn't want to be anybody She doesn't want to be somebody She just wants to belong to someone who will hold her in the night By: Roger Harkness

I wrote this about my ex while I was married to her. ?She was not a career woman. ?Did not have no wish to be such. ?A women who wishes to keep her family and home happy, nothing to wrong with that. ?But this was a time of women’s liberation which meant that a women could not depend upon a man for her?livelihood?and was expected to find her way and stand on her own two feet. ?For those women who did otherwise, like my ex, they were thought of as traitors.
