MUST READ – Green is good, Red is bad

ACTION ITEM, News No Comments

My wife forwarded this to me and feels it is  very important information to pass on.  Normal  alternative medications like echinacea will not work and actually will make things worse if you catch the swine flu or suspect you have it.  There are however other alternative treatments that will help. So what I have hi-lighted green is good and what I hi-lighted red is bad.  Pass this on.

Natural Antivirals Submitted by Health Gazette on Thu, 2006-05-11 08:55.

Alternative Medicine

Regular readers know that I have no time for the nonsense relating to imagined bird-flu pandemics. However. I regarded the following item of sufficient novelty to be of some interest. You may judge its merits for yourself.

Research suggests certain natural foods may be as effective against virus H5N1 as commercial antivirals.

(PRWEB) May 10, 2006 — A Biology teacher from Australia, named Stephen Jones, has done extensive research into the H5N1 virus and compiled a list of natural foods that are effective against it and listed others that are detrimental.

The list may come as a surprise to many people since foods such as spirulina and echinacea are listed as detrimental. This strange occurrence is largely due to the fact that the virus is immune to 2 cytokines that the body produces (TNF-a and IL-6). Cytokines are compounds produced by the body’s immune system that attack and remove foreign bodies. The problem is that when a foreign body is immune to certain cytokines, the body sees that its immune response is not working and tries even harder, which can lead to what is called a cytokine storm, where the body becomes flooded with these compounds and they eventually destroy the body itself. Foods such as Echinacea
actually stimulate the production of these specific cytokines; hence consuming it is not a good idea if one suspects they may have the virus.

During the 1918 Spanish Flu many healthy young people died from cytokine storms due to their immune systems overreacting. Consuming foods which suppress the production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6 and enhance the production of the ones that actually are effective against the virus will aid the patient greatly.

Other foods that create mucous in the respiratory tract, such as bananas, are also listed as detrimental due to the fact that the predominant breeding ground of the virus is the respiratory tract and another way in which a patient may suffer is due to the body’s over production of mucous in this area.

Folk Medicines and Herbs to use and avoid with Bird Flu

Below is a list of foods that are said to contain substances that are natural antivirals, immune boosters or they decrease cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.

Alternative medications that are most likely to help us during a
severe pandemic:

Garlic (allicin) – Very effective antiviral. Best if fresh (raw) and
crushed. Must be consumed within 1 hour of crushing. Dosage is
initially 2 to 3 cloves per day but later reduce until no body odour
occurs. No toxic effects noted. (Pubmed PMID 9049657)

Vitamin C – Boosts the immune system and is an antiviral by blocking
the enzyme neuraminadase. Viruses need neuraminadase to reproduce.
There are anecdotal stories of people taking large amounts of Vitamin
C (children ½) surviving the Spanish Flu. Research shows that it may
reduce the production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6. A study on 470
people involved giving the test group 1000 mg hourly for 6 hours and
then 1000 mg 3 times daily after reporting flu symptoms. Symptoms
decreased by 85%. (Pubmed PMID 10543583, 634178, 16169205, 12876306)

Green Tea (possible Tamiflu/Relenza alternative)- Very effective
antiviral. Also decreases the production of the cytokine (catechins)
TNF-a. Inhibits neuraminidase. May have antiviral activity that is
equal to other antivirals such as Tamiflu. (Pubmed PMID 16137775)

St Johns Wort (Hypericum) – Very effective antiviral. Also decreases
the production of the cytokine IL-6. Hypericum is an extract from St
John’s Wort. There have been some very successful field trials in
commercial flocks infected with H5N1 in Vietnam. (Pubmed PMID 7857513,
11518071, 11362353, 7857513, 11518071)

Vitamin E – Immune booster. Also decreases the production of the
cytokine TNF-a. (Pubmed PMID 155882360, 10929076) Experiments involved
using mice. Very suitable for immune compromised people, especially
the elderly. Effects enhanced when taken with Vitamin C.

Apple Juice – Antiviral. Fresh apple juice including the pulp and skin
has greater antiviral activity than heated commercial apple juice.
More research is needed. Effectiveness on H5N1 is unknown. (Pubmed
PMID 32832, 12452634)

Resveratrol – Antiviral. In addition to inhibiting neuraminidase,
Resveratrol also sends a message to cells to stop manufacturing
viruses. This is a proven antiviral found naturally in red wine,
peanuts, mulberries, Japanese Knotwood root (richest source), raisins
and red grapes. Resveratrol supplements are relatively inexpensive,
are more stable than wine and is available in liquid form for
absorption in the mouth. No toxic effects noted. (Pubmed PMID 1583880, 12817628, 15985724)

Scuttellaria (Skullcap) – Antiviral. A herb used as a tea. It has no
side effects and is also a mild tranquilliser. Research suggests
neuraminidase, which is a substance needed by the H5N1 virus to
reproduce, may be inhibited.

Cranberry Juice – Early research shows that it may be an antiviral,
making viruses less able to invade or multiply. Effectiveness on H5N1
is unknown. (Pubmed PMID15781126)

Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) – Decreases the production of the
cytokine TNF-a. Also boosts immune system. The number of white blood
cells was significantly increased during treatment. No toxicity was
noted. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=search&DB=pubmed)
Active constituents can be found in the leaves, bark, vine, and roots.
Water extraction from bark used. Children and pregnant women are to
avoid. Has a potentially damaging effect on the DNA of proliferating
cells. (cancers, foetuses, growing children)

Curcumin (Tumeric Spice) – Decreases the production of the cytokine
TNF-a. This is the yellow compound in turmeric spice. Research shows
that this may be very good for preventing a cytokine storm although
this is not proven. Must be taken with food or gastritis or peptic
ulcers may occur. Pregnant women and feeding mothers should avoid
this. The medicinal properties of curcurnin cannot be utilised when
used alone due to rapid metabolism in the liver and intestinal wall.
When combined with Piperine found in black pepper the absorption is
increased with no adverse effects. Obtainable from health stores in
tablets, liquid, capsules already combined with piperine. Dosage is
500mg to 4000mg daily.

Astragalus root (Astragali Radix) – Boosts immune system. (Pubmed PMID15588652)

Tea tree Steam Inhalation – Reduces the cytokine TNF-a. Add 2 drops of
tea tree oil in a bowl of steaming water. Cover head with a towel and
inhale for 5 to 10 minutes. Relieves congestion and fights infection.
Its effectiveness is unknown. (Pubmed PMID 11131302)

The following substances may be best to avoid during a H5N1 pandemic

Elderberry juice (Sambucal) – AVOID – Increases production of
cytokines TNF-a and IL-6. This substance is very effective against the
common flu but may not be desirable for the H5N1 virus. Increases in
these cytokines may trigger a lethal cytokine storm. (Isr Med
Journal2002 Nov;4:944-6)

Micro Algae (Chlorella and Spirulina) – AVOID – Increases production
of cytokine TNF-a. (Pubmed PMID 11731916)

Honey – AVOID – Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.
(Pubmed PMID12824009)

Chocolate – AVOID – Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.
(Pubmed PMID 12885154, PMID 10917928)

Echinacea – AVOID – Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.
Although it is often used for normal flu, research shows that it may
increase the chance of cytokine storms for H5N1. (Pubmed PMID
15556647, 9568541)

Kimchi – AVOID – Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.
(Pubmed PMID15630182)

Dairy products & Bananas – AVOID – These foods increase mucous production.

Is It Getting Hotter or Colder?

Environment No Comments

You may have noticed that we are breaking temperatures in both directions. A couple days ago we almost had to turn on the Air Conditioner as it reached ninety, it has now dipped down into the 50s and I’m wearing a heavy shirt to stay warm.

We’re going to see more and more of this I’m afraid. What’s going on is we are experiencing global warming while at the same time we are entering into the mini ice age.

I just recently read an article explaining no sun spots and NASA scientist are confused. That’s bull shit. Government scientists know very well what is going on. Our government knew that Saddam was not a threat but lied to us to beat the war drums anyways, just like they know about UFOs and want to keep it to them selves.

I wished I knew why they are lying to us. I wished I knew what was really going on and why, but we’re all guessing because that’s all we can do. Your is as good as mine. I won’t argue theories.

I’ve read two scientific articles quoting scientists from I believe Switzerland and the U.S. explaining the upcoming mini ice age and now I do a search for anything on this and can’t find nothing and it is very disturbing.

So anyways, that’s what is going on. I wish I had more information for you and if you have information to add on this, please do, I’d much appreciate it.

Having Faith In The Wind

Looking up to see what I could see
Clouds roll across the sky
Taking different shapes
Don’t we

I can be what the wind blows me to be
or be what the wind does not make me

I’m living a small man
Acting big only made me smaller
Being myself makes me cute
I can look smart if I want to
But I would not be
Being myself makes me see
I’m brave enough to be nice
And I can see enough to know you’re not

You pretend to be smart and act tough
Your pretending proves you’re not
Afraid to care
You don’t have the guts to share
I’m not wrong
But strong enough to let that bother me

Your life is not my business
Not unless you let it be
All I can do is go my way
And hope someday you’ll see

As for me
I have faith in the wind
Letting it take me where it has
Not hiding from what it wants of me
It knows what’s best for me
Knowing that there isn’t anything in this world great enough
Having faith
Not a thing can take my life from me
When I rain
The grass will grow

Naked Wizard Taser Brawl At Coachella (VIDEO NSFW)

huffingtonpost.com — The police officers beg and plead for the man to put on his robes, but all the Naked Wizard wants to do is be free of his wizard sleeves and hang in the breeze. He throws his colorful garb onto the grass. “It doesn’t have to stop,” the Naked Wizard says.

Indecent exposure – think about it. Let me ask, is there something indecent about our body. This is what we are taught. WHY DO WE BELIEVE IT? That’s a brave man, I wish I could be so brave.

Sad thing is, he will be charged with a sex crime. He will only be able to live in certain areas and all mothers will believe he is a child molester and every women will think he’s a rapist as the law will always require that he be identified. Strangely however murderes and violent criminals after their short stay behind bars, they are free.

Why did they tase him, one of the officers realising they had gone to far made them stop. Did you see that one officer knee him and the other pull his hair while he was down. Surely they could have just put him in handcuffs, draped a blanket around him, read him his rights and took him to jail. There were three of them and only one of him. When you brake laws enforcing the law, you are a hypocrite. Let me ask another question, who is worse, a hypocrite or someone who is not ashamed of their body?  Oh wait, I know, we’re all supposed to be ashamed of our body, now that’s thinking inside the box. Safe inside that box we are, only a few brave souls dare wander.

This is only a free country because people stand up for freedom, and when we stop doing that, we stop being free.  So stand up for those who take the chance who stand against the laws that keep us from being free.

Net Neutrality – It’s YOUR Free Speech

ACTION ITEM, History, Just Me, News, Politics, Relationships, Technical, Wisdom No Comments

I think Net Neutrality is very important.  Some people will tell me that the Internet is full of porn or that we should be talking to each other face to face, while these arguments have some merit, these same people have tvs and spend most of their free time watching them.  First of all, what is porn, it is sex, what is sex, it was how you and I were created, is that so wrong?  Ok, now what’s on tv.  You will watch five people die a day, how can that be good.  So what’s the logic, there isn’t none, we are brain washed, really, we are.  The other argument, I will agree we need to visit more with eachother, but when we do, we talk about tv, really.  You know what’s really funny about tv shows, you never watch anybody watch tv, but thats what most of us do.  Our lives our so unreal, living our lives in a tv show.  So give me the Internet and the porn, it’s more real than you and your tv watching people die every day.

Net neutrality is very important. What the phone companies and cable companies want us to do is to have those of us who provide content (blogs, personal pages and myspace/facebook/etc.) on the Internet, pay them to host it at high speed, the free sites slow speed, so that once again there will be a one way conversation between the haves and have nots just like Print, TV and Radio. Right now our democracy is those who have the most dollars have the votes, it’s a scam guiding us with misinformation and entertainment. The Internet is turning that around and we can’t let them take that away from us. That’s my soap box. Later.

God Is Near

Lying in the darkness of midnight
I’m suddenly gripped with fear
I know that God is near
My heart begins to pound
My chest beings to hurt
And I wonder if I’m gonna be taken away
Don’t really know why I’m afraid
Maybe because you’re so great
Or maybe because I’ve made a few mistakes
But as Jesus sat with the sinners
Please stay with me
For as long as you may
Because I know as long as you’re with me
I’m okay
Knowing that you love me
And would do nothing to hurt me

Poem of The Day – God, The Sum Total Of All Things

Poem, Poem of The Day, Relationships, Religion No Comments

“God” The Sum Total Of All Things

Good things come from understanding
Evil things come from misunderstanding

I will ask a question
How do we know if we are understanding?
or misunderstanding?

Fools will try to tell me the answer
But the wise will ask themselves

If all were wise
All would ask themselves
Asking themselves
All would find answers
Finding answers
All would learn understanding
If all learned understanding
All would be good

Jesus was put to death because of misunderstanding
If his death saved us
We were saved by misunderstanding

Jesus told us to be as he has been
And most of the people who believe we are saved by misunderstanding
are nothing like Jesus
I think it’s because they’re living a misunderstanding

Jesus knew he was going to die
Because he was understanding
Jesus with all his wisdom and power
could have destroyed his slayers
he didn’t
Because he was understanding
Before he died
He asked, “Father forgive them
For they know not what they do”
He understood

Then there are those who close their eyes
Refusing to see pain
Pretending to see only beauty
For the sake of their peace

Yet we live in a world where
The rich get greedier
The poor live bitterly
Marriages become broken dreams
Children are beaten from the start
As adults struggle to put themselves back together
Men are pressured, being put up high
Women are crippled, being put down low
Children are afraid of molestation
Women are afraid of rape
and all in fear of robbery
Finding corruption
in everything we try to believe in
We have bombs aimed against bombs
and the natural order of things
our sustenance of life
is ignored

Open your eyes
Question what you see
and learn to understand
Acting upon this understanding would bring true peace

There is a hell
Jesus visited it
Misunderstanding put him through it
Jesus who let himself be sacrificed gracefully
taught us understanding
The only way to be saved
Is to be understanding
Like Jesus

By:  Roger Harkness

However, this I believe to be true: We will not destroy ourselves. The same Spirit who sent Jesus, being the sum total of all things, will not allow it; having a greater understanding then we could imagine,  there is a plan beyond our sight.

I wrote this years ago after I woke up one day from my search for salvation and asked the question, “Why do I need to be saved, who condemned me?”

Poem of The Day – Games Are So Stupid

Poem, Poem of The Day, Relationships No Comments

Games Are So Stupid

You’re curved on top
Thin in the middle
And wide at the hip
When you look at me
You lick your lips
You’re an artist woman
God created a great piece of work
You’ve enhanced it
And made it work
With hair that flows
Legs that grow
Eyebrows that are straight
Marbles in a picture frame
When you look out
A man can’t help but look in
With a pair of wet looking lips
The outfits you wear
No man can look just once
Yes
They’re all looking at you
You’ve captured them all
Oh, how it pleases you
But how few men can see you
It’s a bit confusing
This is a lot of fun
But this isn’t what you want
Like a rich man
Who wonders what he can learn being poor
Just once
You would like to make it with a blind man
And oh
How you like the shy men
But this man is a dangerous one
He only enjoyed the view
But sees inside you
I’ll let you take me to bed
And enjoy it too
Let you think I couldn’t help it
But when you discover I can see you
You’ll run, but find no place to hide
I’ll be hurt
But I won’t die
But until you love yourself
You can never love me
I swear I care
I’m only here to be there
I want you to know
It’s lonely here
To be able to love
When there’s no one that can love you
And to see you is okay
Nothing about you
Bothers me
Somekind of misconception
The cloths cover up the shame
And for some stupid reason
Everybody’s playing this stupid game
Men have an ego
Feelings inside hide
Making them small in size
But women pride themselves
In their disguise
It might make you angry
that I don’t pay attention to these rules
I don’t even play the game
And I’m sorry
If you thought I was supposed to
You think
I just don’t understand
But I do
Everybody in this world needs love
It might be hard for you to admit to
But so do you
You don’t need nobody to own you
Believe me
I’m not looking for a piece of property
Just need some company
Somebody to hold in my arms
Someone I can talk to
And I think if you had been honest
You would know
That’s all you wanted to
Because we all have something inside of us
We need to share
With someone else

U.S. shipped 989 munitions containers to Israel week before Gaza invasion –Shipment included white phosphorous 10 Apr 2009 In the dying days of the Bush administration, and a week before Israel launched an aerial bombing campaign, followed by a land invasion of the Gaza Strip, the U.S. military shipped 989 containers of munitions to Israel. Each container was 20-feet long with a total estimated net weight of 14,000 tonnes. The shipment reportedly reached Israel last month at Ashdod, 40 kilometres north of Gaza. According to Amnesty International in the UK, the shipment included white phosphorous.

Cost of Iraq war will surpass Vietnam’s by year’s end –If Congress approves the latest funding request, as expected, the Iraq war will have cost about $694 billion, making it the second most expensive conflict in U.S. history behind World War II. 11 Apr 2009 The amount of U.S. money spent on the Iraq war will surpass the cost of Vietnam by the end of the year, making it the second most expensive military conflict in American history, behind World War II, according to Pentagon figures provided Friday. If Congress approves the supplemental funding request submitted this week by the Obama administration, the cost of the war will rise by $87 billion for 2009, including a previous supplement approved during the Bush administration.

Contractor Must Pay in Iraq Fraud, Court Rules 11 Apr 2009 A federal appeals court ruled Friday that a contractor [mercenaries] found to have committed widespread fraud in Iraq could not avoid paying millions of dollars in damages by claiming that the United States law governing false claims essentially did not apply there, as a previous judge had found on technical grounds. The earlier decision set aside a jury’s verdict in 2006 that the contractor, Custer Battles, must pay about $10 million in damages and penalties to the United States government and two whistle-blowers.

US setting stage for longer Iraq stay? 11 Apr 2009 The top US commander in Iraq has suggested increasing the number of combat forces in breach of a recently signed deal for their withdrawal. General Ray Odierno said in an interview with The Times that he would ask the White House to keep combat troops in the northern provinces of Mosul and Baqubah beyond a deadline set last year for their withdrawal by the end of June.

Is Gates channeling Cheney on Iraq with ‘last gasp’ remark? 10 Apr 2009 Midway through a week of mayhem in Iraq, Defense Secretary Robert Gates raised eyebrows when he said the recent resurgence of violence in Baghdad was “a last gasp” of Islamic extremists. It was an echo of former Vice President [sic] Dick Cheney, who in 2005 said the insurgency was “in the last throes.” The following two years were the deadliest period of the war. A truck bomb Friday in the northern city of Mosul killed five U.S. soldiers in the deadliest attack on U.S. forces in 13 months. Since Monday, a series of explosions around the country has killed at least 60 Iraqis and injured 200.

Iraqi babies for sale: people trafficking crisis grows in corrupt system –At least 150 children a year sold for £200 to £4,000 –Some bartered youngsters become sex abuse victims 06 Apr 2009 Corruption, weak law enforcement and porous borders are compounding a growing child trafficking crisis in [Bush's] Iraq, according to officials and aid agencies, with scores of children abducted each year and sold internally or abroad. Criminal gangs [Xe/KBR] are profiting from the cheap cost of buying infants and the bureaucratic muddle that makes it relatively easy to move them overseas. Accurate figures are difficult to obtain because there is no centralised counting procedure, but aid agencies and police say they believe numbers have increased by a third since 2005 to at least 150 children a year.

‘Israel killed 437 kids in blockaded Gaza’ 11 Apr 2009 Israel’s three-week war on the Gaza Strip left 437 children dead and 1872 more wounded, the Ministry of Social Affairs in Gaza has said. Ahmad Al Kurd, Minister of Social Affairs, said on Friday that the Israeli army targeted women and children, and that its shelling targeted homes, hospitals, educational facilities and even mosques, International Middle East Media Center reported.

60 drone hits kill 14 al-Qaeda men, 687 civilians 10 Apr 2009 Of the 60 cross-border predator strikes carried out by the Afghanistan-based American drones in Pakistan between January 14, 2006 and April 8, 2009, only 10 were able to hit their actual targets, killing 14 wanted al-Qaeda [al-CIAduh] leaders, besides perishing 687 innocent Pakistani civilians. The ’success’ percentage of the US predator strikes is thus not more than six per cent.

Ian Tomlinson, a 47-year-old newspaper seller, died on April 1 after being assaulted at least once by officers policing the G20 demonstrations. He had been trying to walk home from work when he was confronted by police, hit with a baton and thrown to the ground.

Should Obama Control the Internet? –A new bill would give the President emergency authority to halt web traffic and access private data. By Steve Aquino 02 Apr 2009 Should President Obama have the power to shut down domestic Internet traffic during a state of emergency? Senators John Rockefeller (D-W. Va.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) think so. On Wednesday they introduced a bill to establish the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor–an arm of the executive branch that would have vast power to monitor and control Internet traffic to protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure.

Goldman Sachs hires law firm to shut blogger’s site 11 Apr 2009 Goldman Sachs is attempting to shut down a dissident blogger who is extremely critical of the investment bank, its board members and its practices. The bank has instructed Wall Street law firm Chadbourne & Parke to pursue blogger Mike Morgan, warning him in a recent cease-and-desist letter that he may face legal action if he does not close down his website. Florida-based Mr Morgan began a blog entitled “Facts about Goldman Sachs” — goldmansachs666.com — just a few weeks ago.

All passengers will ‘go through the whole-body imager instead of the walk-through metal detector.’ Whole-Body Scans Pass First Airport Tests 07 Apr 2009 In a shift, the Transportation Security Administration plans to replace the walk-through metal detectors at airport checkpoints with whole-body imaging machines — the kind that provide an image of the naked body. Initially, the machines were supposed to be used only on passengers who set off the metal detectors, to provide them with an option to the customary secondary physical pat-downs and inspections by electronic wand. But Robin Kane, the agency’s acting chief technology officer, said that the initial results from pilot tests at some checkpoints at 19 airports in the United States had been so good that the idea of using the machines as the standard checkpoint detectors made sense.

Hundreds of Ill. patients possibly exposed to TB 11 Apr 2009 Hundreds of patients and staff at three Chicago-area hospitals may have been exposed to tuberculosis by a contagious doctor-in-training, officials said Friday. About 300 staff and 150 patients may have been exposed at Children’s Memorial Hospital, said Dr. Stan Shulman, the hospital’s chief of pediatric infectious disease. Seventeen patients may have been affected at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, officials said.

Suspected Nazi can stay in US for now: officials 11 Apr 2009 Suspected Nazi guard John Demjanjuk can remain in the United States while an immigration court considers his latest appeal against extradition to Germany, US officials said Wednesday. “It is a subject for the courts at this point,” said Pat Reilly, a spokeswoman for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

States Slashing Social Programs for Vulnerable 12 Apr 2009 Battered by the recession Bush Depression and the deepest and most widespread budget deficits in several decades, a large majority of states are slicing into their social safety nets — often crippling preventive efforts that officials say would save money over time. President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package… will offset only 40 percent of the losses in state revenues, and programs for vulnerable groups have been cut in at least 34 states, according to the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, a private research group in Washington.

Tell the Pesticide Peddlers: We support Michelle Obama’s organic garden. (CREDO) 11 Apr 2009 The Mid America CropLife Association (MACA) has a bone to pick with Michelle Obama. MACA represents chemical companies that produce pesticides, and they are angry that – wait for it – Michelle Obama isn’t using chemicals in her organic garden at the White House. We are not making this up. In an email they forwarded to their supporters, a MACA spokesman wrote, “While a garden is a great idea, the thought of it being organic made [us] shudder.” MACA went on to publish a letter it had sent to the First Lady asking her to consider using chemicals — or what they call “crop protection products” — in her garden.

Previous lead stories: General Odierno: US troop numbers in northern Iraq could rise rather than fall 10 Apr 2009 The activities of ‘al-Qaeda’ in two of Iraq’s most troubled cities could keep US combat troops engaged beyond the June 30 deadline for their withdrawal, the top US commander in the country has warned. US troop numbers in Mosul and Baqubah, in the north of the country, could rise rather than fall over the next year if necessary, General Ray Odierno told The Times in his first interview with a British newspaper since taking over from General David Petraeus in September. Lawsuit filed against 3 US companies for supplying chemical WMDs to Iraq — Alcolac pleaded guilty in 1989 to knowingly violating export laws by shipping a mustard-gas ingredient that ultimately went to Iran. 09 Apr 2009 Five survivors of the 1988 poison gas attacks of ethnic Kurds in Iraq have filed a class action lawsuit in Maryland claiming three American companies and the government of Iraq violated the Geneva Convention by using mustard and nerve gasses to kill tens of thousands of people. Filed in U.S. District Court in Baltimore, the lawsuit says the companies supplied the regime of former Iraqi dictator [CIA asset] Saddam Hussein with the chemical precursors and compounds needed to make the poison gases used in the six-month long “Operation Anfal.”

US military admits killing mother, children 09 Apr 2009 The US military in Afghanistan admitted Thursday that four people its troops killed in a raid were not “combatants”, after Afghans said they included a mother and her children, with a baby dying afterwards. Afghan officials and witnesses earlier accused the forces of killing civilians in an overnight raid in the eastern province of Khost that the US military initially said killed “four combatants”.

Poem of The Day – Don’t Make My Mistake

Poem, Poem of The Day No Comments

Don’t Make My Mistake

Son
Don’t make no mistake
There is a right
There is a wrong
All the rules
Cannot be written down
It’s up to you to be balanced
In a world that is not
Something might seem right
You’ll find nothing is completely right
Something might seem wrong
You’ll find that nothing is compeltely wrong
It’s a bit confusing
As a battle wars on
I don’t know how it will end
But you can’t take sides
Because there isn’t one
Best way I canexplain it
You have to love everyone
Son
Don’t make no mistake
There ain’t no bad people here
We were all created equally fair
Nothing you have to fear
You only have to be careful
And know your course to steer
You see, everybody thinks they’re right
And everybody disagrees
Some choose to act bad
Hating themselves
They will probably hate you
Some are confused
Not caring to see
They probably won’t see you
Then there’s those who try
But being guided by a lie
They might offend you
But be very careful not to hurt them
Christ blesses them because they try
and helps them when they cry
You might find yourself alone
There are few who can face reality
in a real way
It’s up to us
To learn why
As we come to know
We learn of the God who built the sky
The Force that makes the storm blow
the Spirit that talks to birds
Telling them where to fly
The Son, who taught the fish to swim
Mother Nature, who keeps it together
Son
Don’t make no mistake
I’ve changed my mind
Over a hundred times
Been blinded over one hundred ways
Till finally I leanred
That truth can only be felt
When you hear words you cannot feel
Such words you cannot fulfill
Sometimes you have to fight
Sometimes you have to negotiate
Don’t do nothing if your feelings aren’t right
You have to fess-up to the fact
You can be wrong
You have to be strong
Standing up when you know you’re right
This is true
You won’t find it in a book
In every decision you make
To know the truth
Is to know what you feel
