God Is Near

Lying in the darkness of midnight
I’m suddenly gripped with fear
I know that God is near
My heart begins to pound
My chest beings to hurt
And I wonder if I’m gonna be taken away
Don’t really know why I’m afraid
Maybe because you’re so great
Or maybe because I’ve made a few mistakes
But as Jesus sat with the sinners
Please stay with me
For as long as you may
Because I know as long as you’re with me
I’m okay
Knowing that you love me
And would do nothing to hurt me
