Here We Go Again

I’ve been on top of the mountain
and I’ve been in the valley
I remember the past
and I know the future
I’m not always right
and I’m not always wrong
Things don’t always go as planned

One thing I know for sure
I’ve been there
and you may be too
I wish I could tell you like they tried to tell me
But I wouldn’t listen to them
and you won’t listen to me
We all have to make our own mistakes
It’s the way we see
I just wish this didn’t have to be

Maybe if we judged ourselves as harshly as we judge others
Maybe then it could be
