The First American, Came From Heaven, Born in China

It was a half century before Christ
In the land of Lu
the first American was born
Everybody knew
King Kiu
Confucius to you
A discarded son of an aristocrat
The hierarchy of the land
He preached human justice
In a time of human sacrifice
He taught gentlemanliness
In a time of barbarism
He cried there was too much fighting
In a time where there was too much war
He walked across China
Teaching kings who refused to learn
As a Minister of Justice
It was said the land of Lu was paradise
A place of peace and justice
Men did not steal from one another
Because they did not want to
The evil duke became a corrupter
Frustrated
He gave up his post
Built schools
He taught the rich, the poor
He taught the aged, the child
Not math and science
But the art of people respect
Human justice and fair government
He claimed corruptness would end
When we can vote for our leaders
Someday you will see
China will be free
with the help of an American
Who lived long ago
In the land of Lu
King Kiu
Confucius to you
    He left behind a legend
    Teachings we could learn too

I’ve read all of the teachings of Confucius, he was a brilliant man, so I wrote this for him.  But I suppose he did not see that if we got to vote for our leaders, their would be lies, deceit and fraud.  But things are much better now than they were way back there in China.  Confucius was in fact the first American and someday maybe China will follow his way.

VOTE FOR THE PERSON

Music, Poem, Politics No Comments

Barack Obama is IRISH!

It should not matter if Obama is Muslim, African or Irish. It should not matter if he is Democrat or Republican, Baptist, Catholic or Atheist. It should not matter if he is man, woman or a little of both. And it should not matter if he is black, white, red or purple.

VOTE FOR THE PERSON

But there is a right wing group that is PNB (Prejudice Narrow Minded Bigot). Unfortunately they believe everybody is like them. They are saying not to vote for Obama because he is a black Muslim, connecting him to terrorists and such. Some will vote for McCain because Palin is a woman. These people are a small minority of PNB, but they might be enough to turn an election in a tight race.

So to them I say, F**k you, Obama is an Irish Christian White Boy and his VP is Catholic, sorry though, he’s not a woman, but I’m sure he’ll save this country anyway. Well maybe he’ll try and I think I’ll leave that one alone. He’s the best of two evils. I say vote for him, that’s who I’m voting for, but whoever you vote for “VOTE FOR THE PERSON!”

Don’t Let Nobody Stop You From Voting

Vote For The Person, Not The Party

Just Me, Politics, Wisdom No Comments

The 700 billion bail out did not pass - THANK GOD!

But after a several hours of impassioned debate, the bill’s opponents - the majority of whom were from the Republican Party - got their way.

Excerpt from the BBC News

It seems that the Republicans are the true American’s now.   Are the Democrats in power now because Bush was so bad we got tired of Republicans, that’s what they say, but do you know what really happens.  The exclusive one percent of the richest people in the world play a good game of cards and we’re just a part of the game.  The democrates have a better chance of winning now and they bought them and have them now and that’s why the demorats vote for them now.

Do you think Obama is going to win because he’s a democrat.  No, Obama is going to win because Murdock says so, who by the way, made bush the winner.

They tell us what they want us to hear and we make decisions based on what we think we know, but we are fish being caught, hook, line and sinker.

Should we stop and look at the trees, the birds and the sound of the wind and hear the voice of our own heart, then they will not so easily catch us.

Who should you vote for in November.  Let me tell you, don’t vote demorat and don’t vote republirat.  Vote for the PERSON, not the party.  Vote for the person you know will do the best job.

A Short History Lesson On A Women’s Right To Vote

History No Comments

From a recent email message from Batch, the leader of of the Oklahoma City Peace House.

The doctor refused to find Alice Paul “insane,” saying,
“Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.”

1920 …..
Women were not “granted” the right to vote.
Women WON the right to vote.

Here are pictures & stories of Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers only 90 years ago.

The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed
nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking
for the vote.

Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the
warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards
to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because
they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right
to vote.

(Lucy Burns)
They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above
her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping
for air.

(Dora Lewis)
They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her
head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate,
Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack.
Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging,
beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

By the end of the night, some were barely alive.
Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing
went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of
‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’

For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their
food–all of it colorless slop–was infested with worms.

(Alice Paul)
When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her
to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she
vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to
the press.

Andrew Rice Grows In Popularity

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rice: ‘It’s time to put people before politics’
Poll shows State Sen. Andrew Rice
within single digits of Jim Inhofe

Press Release:
Monday, Aug. 18, 2008

OKLAHOMA CITY — A poll released Monday by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Rice Campaign shows strong momentum for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Rice and has him within striking distance of Sen. Jim Inhofe, who has been in Washington for 22 years.

Recent numbers show Rice at 41 to Inhofe’s 50 percent. The State Senator and Democratic Nominee for the U.S. Senate said it is time our representatives in Washington to put people before politics.

“As your U.S. Senator, I will do what is right for Oklahoma and bring people together from all sides and parties to find solutions,” Rice said. “These days, Oklahomans are struggling to pay for gas, worried about having health care and if their children are getting a quality education. It is not a time to play partisan politics. We need new leadership that will help find solutions to our problems.”

This latest poll is one more major sign that Oklahomans are looking for someone who will represent the people of Oklahoma first, not their political party. The Tulsa World’s Sooner Poll showed the race at 52-30 in June and 60-19 in December. This latest poll, conducted Aug. 12-14, shows a sure and steady climb in statewide support for Rice.

Inhofe, who has served in Washington for 22 years and has been in politics for 40, has a job approval rating of 46 percent, according to the latest poll.

“Jim Inhofe has been in Washington a long time. Having received more than $1 million in contributions from big oil, he has lost his way from when Oklahomans first elected him,” said Geri Prado, Rice’s campaign manager. “It’s time for a U.S. Senator who represents his constituents, not his contributors.”
